Hiring a photographer can be expensive and if you don’t know much about photography, making the choice can become a lot harder. Here are a few surefire ways to make sure you find the perfect wedding photographer for your day.
Know the style you like. The photographs taken on your wedding day will be something you look at for many years. You want them to capture your style. If you know what kind of style you would like, that is perfect… now it is time to find a photographer who complements that. If you are not sure, do some research by looking at different wedding photographs and deciding which type most appeals to you. Get familiar with the terminology used for photography, and you will be able to tell your photographer exactly what you are looking for.
Read reviews of your photographer. The internet has evolved so that nowadays we can find reviews on pretty much anything. See what other couples had to say, not only about the quality of the photographs, but also the character of your photographer.
Don’t view a portfolio; view the whole wedding album. When a photographer showcases their work to you, they are very likely to use only their best photographs. It should be expected that they will want to show you how great their work can be. However, this isn’t necessarily an accurate display of their work. Instead of seeing their portfolio, ask rather to see a complete wedding album, so you can see how they capture an entire day.
Do you get along? When looking for a photographer, it is important to find someone who you click with.
