How to Pack the Ultimate Gym Bag

Health Article_Chispa MagazinePacking a gym bag might seem like a rudimentary activity that we don’t need to put a lot of effort in. However, this is where most people get it wrong, a well packed gym bag can really up our fitness routine, and help our body stay healthy throughout our regimen.

Here is a detailed list of anything and everything you might need to pack in your gym bag.

Daily rotation. You don’t need to empty your entire gym bag every day, that is best left for the weekends. But the items that need to be replaced on the daily level are your workout towels and after shower ones along with the dry towel/wet towel bags. You also need to change your workout clothes and to wash and fill your water bottle. Don’t just refill it, by giving it a wash you are maintaining a higher level of hygiene, the other option is getting a disposable water bottle, but as you know that is not very environmentally friendly. Finally, make sure you restock on your protein and power bars, you” need the energy after a strenuous workout.

Sneaker rotation. Having just one pair of gym shoes is never a good option. They can get worn out quickly, and the hygiene levels drop if you use them daily without washing or airing them out. Considering that they are essential for protecting your feet and joints during a workout it would be wise to consider getting two pairs right off the bat.

You can’t go wrong with a pair of sneakers from the Nike Air Max range. Just make sure you choose the ones that are most suited for your workout regimen. You can even get two different pairs so that you can rotate your exercise types on the daily basis and always have the right feet and joint support.

Permanent fixtures. Your gym bag permanent fixtures will also need a restocking from time to time, but you won’t have to remove them all together. This includes a gym first-aid kit, some elastic bandages, band-aids and hot/cold ointment along with disinfectant. It is best to treat a injury right away, no matter how small it is. Of course you should consult a professional as soon as you can, this kit is there just to get you home safe.

Another permanent fixture is your shower gel/shampoo/deodorant combo. These should always be present in your gym bag, just make sure you replace them in time so as you don’t run out. Finally don’t forget about a hairdryer. Most gyms have them on offer, but you either have to wait or they will charge you a fee. Having a small hairdryer in your bag will save you both time and money, as well as prevent you from catching a cold as soon as you leave the gym.

Accessories. Now that you got all your essentials in the bag, so to say, it’s time for a few accessories to help you get through your exercise routine more easily. Of course music is essential, so packing a pair of headphones is a must. As for your playlist, that we leave up to you personal preferences. It is also a good idea to have your own pair of gym gloves as to ensure top level hygiene. And don’t forget a pair of shower shoes, going barefoot in the gym shower is a fungal infection waiting to happen.

Finally, you should bring your exercise planner with you, it will help you get the routine right, and there will be no room for slacking, and we all have a tendency to do so especially after the holidays.

There you have it, all packed up and ready to go. You can return to this article from time to time just to make sure your gym bag stays properly packed. And now go, your fitness regimen awaits.
