Can More Education Instigate Your Career?

New Career_Chispa MagazineMost people develop an idea that when a person holds more accolades in education that they are more likely to be able to secure a job. It is common for a lot of misconceptions to surround education, such as if a person has two degrees, or lots of certificates and achievements in a certain subject, that this means employers will be much more likely to employ them than a person who does not hold as much educational accomplishments. This, of course, can be true for some careers – such as if a person holds degrees and a PhD in a subject such as creative writing, then universities or businesses who specialize in writing will want a person with this sort of experience. But, it is not always true, too. Some employers look for people who hold the relevant skills and experience to be able to fit into a job role, and their education may not even be relevant. For example, if a construction company is looking for new employees then they are more likely to look for people who hold the right experience in say, scaffolding or manual labor, and their education may not even come into the decision.

But, bear in mind, that it is also important to develop a good education in order for you to be able to cope and fit into a company’s work ethics. Education does not have to be all about gaining degrees or similar achievements. Education can simply be about learning on the job, reading up on subjects through literature or via online, or even watching videos on how to do certain jobs properly, can help you.

However, though, as previously mentioned, in certain jobs a relevant history of education could prove to be the factor in the company taking you on. For example, if you are looking for a job in a technology based business, then it is more than likely that you will need to possess an in depth knowledge of certain topics and have the knowledge of how aspects of technology work. If you are unsure of what sort of education and experience you will need, then you could take a look at graduate programs by Nanyang Technological University so that you can gain more of an in depth knowledge of what education and skills you will need to hold. This is the same for any job which will require you to possess the right education – do your research on programs which offer relevant degrees and you will be able to gauge if you have the correct abilities and skills.

A good education does not necessarily mean that you will be able to get any job you would like, but in certain fields a solid education can certainly help. What’s more, a good education can improve you as a person as you will feel empowered about your knowledge of certain subjects and could also possibly feel very confident about your resume and CV when you send it off to potential employers.
