Police-Chispa MagazineWe spend in excess of forty hours a week at work, and if you hate your job and it bores you- chances are you won’t be a happy person in general. For most of us, work is a means to an end, a way to pay the bills, however we really do need to find something interesting, enjoyable or rewarding about it when it takes up so much of our time. Whether you’re a young person just starting out and looking for ideas for your future career path, or it’s a little later on and you’re considering a change, here are some exciting roles that can mean work is terrific instead of tedious.

Air Ambulance
The air ambulance is a relatively new addition to healthcare, but provides an exciting opportunity for those that want to work in the field. If you were considering becoming a paramedic, an accident and emergency room worker or other high pressure healthcare job then why not look into this? You will be working in emergency situations at extreme heights, air evac jobs certainly aren’t for the faint hearted but if you want a role that’s full of excitement with the chance to make a genuine difference then this might be for you.

Police Work
There are all kinds of exciting roles you could work with in the police force. It could be training and working with police dogs to being part of the riot squad, you could be responsible for pursuing criminals at high speed in the car. You could even work as a police dispatcher, taking emergency calls and sending out police to various places. It’s a very rewarding position as you know you’re bringing people to justice, but is full of excitement too with every day being different. If you want a role that’s going to get the adrenaline pumping then working within the police could be a good option.

Private Investigator
While there are not set entry requirements to become a private investigator, having experience in an enforcement or investigative role such as the police or armed forces could be useful. So if you’re considering joining the army or working for the police, then this is something you could think about doing later down the line. You could be working for the government or council on things like fraud, tracing missing people, doing background checks and dealing with legal documents. Every case is unique and it can be an incredibly interesting role.

Most of us are guilty of getting into a rut with work, we live for the weekends and the next vacation and it can leave us feeling unfulfilled. Find your passion, look into taking a job that you find genuinely interesting. Every day at work isn’t going to be sunshine and rainbows in any job, but it shouldn’t leave you feeling constantly bored, deflated or depressed.

If you could, what job would you like to have? Would you ever start again and change career?
