Have You Found The Right Job?

Increase Your Job Prospects Today-Chispa MagazineWe often assume that jobs are all about the decision of the employer, but that’s not true. In many cases, the employee has a choice to make too. They need to think about whether or not they have found the right job that will make them happy. Sometimes, there will be numerous options to choose from. I know what you’re thinking. “That’s never happened to me.” That’s probably just because you haven’t reached a high enough point in your career as of yet. Or, you’re not applying for enough jobs at once. I guarantee, at some point you will need to decide between more than one job on offer. At that point, you need to take a few factors into account.

Pay.
It should come as no surprise that this will be one of the main, deciding factors of whether or not to take a job. You need to think about whether or not the pay is better than a current position. Or another position that might be available to you. This isn’t always clear, so you can use an hourly paycheck calculator. That’s useful if your wages are calculated differently to the job that you’re currently in. Or, if they’re advertised differently. If the pay is significantly higher, than you may leap at the chance to get the job. But, wait. Usually, if you’re applying for a similar job you may find pay is higher because they don’t have as many add-ons as the current position. This could be a company car, dental or health insurance. If none of these are important to you, by all means choose the new job. Or, you may want to consider a few other factors.

Future.
You do need to think about what the future holds for you at this new job. You need to think about whether there’s a chance to climb up the corporate ladder from your new position. If there is, again, that job is going to be looking quite attractive. But if it’s a dead end position a high pay doesn’t negate this fact. Unless of course, it’s a high enough pay level that it will keep you happy for the rest of your life.

Satisfaction.
Are you going to be satisfied at this new job? It may be offering a great level of pay, but will you be challenged on a regular basis. You might think it’s best not to be challenged and know that you can complete a job well with ease. But eventually, this type of position will get boring. You will find yourself looking at other possibilities on the job market. If that happens too fast, it probably wasn’t worth taking the position in the first place.

A Connection.
Finally, it’s always great when you make a connection with an employer on a personal level. If you feel like you can be happy working for this person, that’s a brilliant position to be in. When you have a good relationship with your boss, your job will never feel like a chore. It can be nothing less than a dream come true.
