Awesome Careers In The Force That You Should Consider

Promoting A New Business The Right Way-Chispa MagazineChoosing a career is always tough. There are so many different things that you can do. In my eyes, joining the police force is a great idea. Why? Because they offer a diversity of roles. Check out some of the careers in the police force that you should consider…

Desk Sergeant
A desk sergeant won’t spend their time out on the front line. Instead, they’re tasked with being in charge of the police stations administration. They keep a log of everyone that comes in and everyone that comes out. If someone comes in to report something, they will report it to the desk sergeant. Similarly, if anyone comes to the station, to see someone that’s been detained, they’ll go to the desk sergeant. It may not sound like an exciting job, but it’s a level above your general admin roles. You can get many people coming into the station at any given time. And, they could be very emotional or angry, you’ve got to be made of strong stuff for this job.

Police Officer
This is the job you usually think of when someone mentions police careers. It’s the typical officer job, you walk the streets and respond to any issues. You’re not likely to run into any of the big, dark, issues that happen. It will mainly be domestic stuff or light robberies. You’ll get a badge and assigned a district to patrol. You’ll also get a range of different police gear that can come in handy. Stuff like mace, tasers, and a Gerber Multi Tool. Not forgetting your trusty police notepad and flashlight. It’s a career that demands lots of hard work, every day. And, it’s fairly unpredictable. You could work different hours and do completely different things each day. But, you’re rewarded with a good wage and pension scheme.

Special Operations
Spec Ops is one of the most intense careers you will find in the police force. Working in spec ops will give you loads of challenges. Special operations have branches that cover multiple things, most of which are highly dangerous. Things like anti-terrorism and covert operations are part of spec ops. You have to be highly trained and skilled to get a job in this section of the police force. As a result, you’ll end up being paid very generously. It’s a dangerous job, but one of the most fulfilling and exciting.

Traffic Officer
As you probably know, the police force has loads of areas of operations. One of the biggest is traffic. A traffic officer will be in charge of making sure the laws of the roads are followed. You’ll ensure that people are parking in the right spots and aren’t speeding in dangerous areas. Sometimes, you’ll have to be in charge of moving traffic too. It involves lots of hard work and you’ll be on your feet most of the day. But, you get to wear a police uniform and carry around cool equipment too.
