You Don’t Have To Be A Teacher To Work In A School

Teacher-Chispa MagazineWorking in a school makes you a confidant and a friend. One of the most common reasons to have a job within a school is to make a difference in the lives of as many students as you can.Here’s a list of some of great jobs to have within a school.

Administrator
This is someone who is responsible for carrying out the administration of the school. They play a big role in ensuring schools function smoothly.

Adviser
An adviser is someone who regularly schedules periods of time, (typically during the school day,) when teachers meet with small groups of students for the purpose of advising them on academic, social, or future planning issues.

Career Counselor
These are the people students can go to, to talk about any worries, stresses or questions they may have about their career. The counselors are there to listen and give out advice when needed.

Cleaner
A cleaner’s responsibility is to keep the whole school clean; there are normally specific areas assigned to different people. This way they can keep track of what’s been done.

After School Program Coordinator
This is the person who organizes and coordinates all the after school activities such as sports and clubs. They also deal with donations and funding for the programs.

Coach
School coaches are there to motivate and instruct students. Their primary responsibility is improving the performance of these athletes.

Teacher
A teacher is someone that teaches… it’s Simply Education that is broken down into ways we can learn, and students can gain knowledge, which leads to a brighter future.

Cook
This is who prepares all the food for students, faculty, and staff, which means making enough for everyone on a daily basis! Most school cooks begin their day very early, especially in schools that provide both breakfast and lunch services.

Crossing Guard
A crossing guard is a traffic management worker who is normally stationed on busy roadways outside of school to aid students cross safely.

Librarian
This is the person who sits in the Library (normally behind a desk), they are there to supervise and help you find books and then check them out for you.

Lunch Monitor
There are normally a few lunch monitors. Their role is to observe what happens at lunch, to make sure no one is getting out of line. They walk around and watch, this is to ensure everyone is safe and no one is in need of any help.

Principal
This is the person who is pretty much in charge of everything. It’s like the president of the school. They set the rules, and the punishments, and are constantly trying to improve the way the system works within the school.

Nurse
The school nurse is the person students go to if they’re not feeling well. They will try and determine what the problem is and decide whether the student should go home or not.

Secretary
A secretary is the one you see allocated at the front desk of the school. It’s the person who answers the phone, responds to emails, writes the newsletters and deals with the student’s attendance.
